DAY 081: I believe I’m being spoiled

November 10, 2008 | Monday

OK, I BELIEVE that I’m being spoiled here. I was escorted to the shower and something happened off the cellblock, so one of the officers had to leave and I had to stay in the shower stall. I took a nice long shower. 🙂 Not only have I been served one hot meal, but two. I think that we may be off lock-down status.

Still evening and only seven minutes later: The barbers have come on to the cellblock, so we are likely off lockdown. It’s not official, but everything points to its being so.

Late entry: Mail was passed out. Tomorrow is Veterans Day (a federal holiday) and no mail will be processed. So this week we only get mail on four days. Mail is not processed on Saturday or Sunday. I received an encouraging letter from Stafford. 🙂 Thanks.

It’s a strange feeling coming back on your entries, Roy.
From time to time, I turn back to the one I did not answer. This 11th day of November, you still do not know what will happen in about one week. And you still have your beard and still refuse the barber’s intervention!
But I know: you got a stay, you are still alive, you went out of the Death Watch… and you decided to let the barber in! Moving back and forward in your life is producing a strange effect, like if we were in the Movie “Return to the Future”.
    With much love
