Day 066: Rocky is going insane

October 26, 2008 | Sunday

The Cowboys just won an unimpressive game, but at least they won. :-). I only caught the 2nd half of the game and that was good. The radio? Not mine. Actually, Alvin gave it to me and I thought someone needed it more than I, so I gave it to him. I can borrow it from time to time, and that’s enough. I am sure Alvin would not mind.

We are eating sack meals still. All the prison units that are on lock-down are being fed sack meals. It’s unfortunate how one man could and threatened a state senator with a cell phone. Now all the Texas prison system is on lock-down status. Amazing, because the Texas prison system is the 2nd largest in the nation. I have been on several of the maximum-security prison units. In all the years since my incarceration, I have only been assigned to maximum security units. It has been a crazy ride, to say the least. These places have all been a type of synthetic world where norms are unbelievable at times. A fistfight only an agument away. Riots and worse brought on by ignorance and boredom. I survived that for years and then locked up in isolation, from 1995 to 1997. The confinement was the new strugggle until I was sent to Death Row. Being on Death Row has been more mental strife than anything else. Recently I found out that a longstanding friend has faltered in this struggle. Rocky is going insane. It’s time to rest my bones. Bedtime.

    Hello Roy
I pray for your mental strength as well as your physical strength. You really need that mental health because with that you can escape to anywhere you want to. Let your mind wonder to any destination and let God put the wonderful pictures in your mind. So wonder on my friend and let there be no boundries to restrict you my friend.

    My dear Roy,
Hearing about the sad lot of your friend Rocky gives me a feeling of revolt. Killing the men who once failed seems to be not enough in this pernicious system. It can do even more : destroy their being before the fatal sword thrust.
Only the strongest can resist to those mental tortures. I think it must require daily mind training, permanent practice to mentally survive, a large ring of faithful friends supporting you, the love of your family and a deep Faith. Thanks to your permanent quest for the Absolute, you have been able to enhance your capacity or resisting to those pressures. God is always on your side. And we too. Loving you and praying for you
