DAY 047: God, I know you care.

October 7, 2008 | Tuesday

TODAY I AM expecting a minister visit. It’s still a bit early for any visits right now. Actually, I got up to see what all the noise was. The clean-up crew is being unusually noisy. These guys are the general population prisoners who are assigned to clean up 12 Building, which is Death Row. Nobody who is sentenced to death is allowed to work. All of us are on constant lock-up. We are always handcuffed and escorted by two officers wherever we go. I have grown accustomed to this policy, although I see the farce in it, now more than ever. The guys on the clean-up crew were in a hurry, sweeping and mopping through. They’ve now passed and gone to the next cellblock.

My minister visit was good. Maria is solid, happy to see us. I haven’t heard Maria sing in a while and I just thought of that, not sure why. She has sung for me in the past, but not today. God bless you, Maria. If you read this, thanks for the kindness of your heart. She always feeds me. I’m sure that she has a hole in her pocket where I am concerned. I should be embarrassed, but the administration still has my restrictions in place and I get hungry.

God, I know you care. Along with my friends and my family, I know you care. Anybody who reads this, please pray for me?

I am so happy for you for Maria’s visits. She is bringing peace to you, doesn’t she? And good things too?
God cares for, we all care for you. And we pray often, so often. You are always in our thoughts and that it not just a word.
    With much love

    Dear Rogelio,
We are praying for you here and asking God to take care of you. I’m glad you had the comfort of Maria’s visit. It must be so hard for you to see the suffering of your friends. We are thinking of you and asking God to give you strength.

Rogelio, since I ‘know’ you I do nothing but pray…. 🙂 No work gets done and I bet my husband, the loveliest, kindest and most generous of men, would be very jealous if he knew how much of my time is spent with you… 🙂
    Strength and courage, Rogelio!
